The Iranian envoy to Vienna-based International Organizations Reza Najafi described the move as a clear violation of Iran’s rights, conflicting directly with the IAEA Statute and the principle of equal participation for all member states.
Behrouz Kamalvandi, the spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) condemned the US move to prevent the Iranian delegation headed by the nuclear chief Eslami from attending the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) annual General Conference in Vienna, describing the behavior as "childish," "destructive," and a clear example of "bullying."
“We cannot help but comment on the outrageous situation surrounding Austria’s refusal to issue an entry visa to the Vice President of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization, who was scheduled to arrive in Vienna to participate in the 70th session of the IAEA General Conference, which is now opening,” Mikhail Ulyanov said on Monday, accoridng to Press TV.
